The Thorsmork natural reservation is a large valley named after the Viking divinity,Thor. Located in South-East of Reykjavik, it is surrounded by 3 glaciers: the Myrdalsjokull, the Eyjafjallajokull and the Tindfjallajökull, and it is offering a large diversity of landscapes of a breath-taking beauty.

The wooded valleys, craggy peaks, profound gorges and the untamed creeks and rivers, make from Thorsmork one of the most visited trekking areas in the summer time. It is not just by chance anymore that many Icelanders come here to enjoy the benefits of this peaceful place.
In September, the valley gets arrayed into the most beautiful autumnal colors and becomes many-hued. In winter, this place gets even more magic, being accessible only in Super-Jeeps.

Day 1: Urridafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Thorsmork

We depart from Reykjavík Eastwards and we stop during the way on the remarkable sites of Urridafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Thorsmork is announced to us by a more rustic route where the use of our Super-Jeeps makes

complete sense. By crossing streams and snow-covered trails, we reach the Eyjafjallajokull glacier, whose translucent blue ice descends from the volcano.

We settle down at the shelter and after having lunch at Thorsmork many walking possiblities are being offered in this magnificent environment. Once the evening comes, your guide will suggest you to have for dinner Icelandic authentic products: Salmon, barbecued lamb and, for the dessert, “the skyr cake”, all accompanied by beer or wine. (The menu can be changed at your convenience.)

In order to conclude the day, if weather conditions are favourable , we can see the northern lights dancing in the sky.

Day 2 : Thorsmork, Stakkholtsgja

After a delicious breakfast, we continue our discovery of the valley. The possibilities are huge. We walk up the Stakkholtsgja canyon towards the waterfall or continue our trip by 4x4 vehicle to the many other extraordinary

Waterproof clothing and windbreaker clothes (on a pair of pants and jacket)

This circuit is made possible due to the competence of our guides who have an extended knowledge of their country, being also experienced in off-road driving. The vehicle being booked, you can request a stop at any time to take a photo or a break.

We use Super-Jeeps, which allow us to cross flooded rivers, to reach snow-covered areas or to safely ascend on the glaciers in an extremely comfortable manner.

For your safety, we reserve the right to change the tours on account of the weather conditions, the route or the snow.
